Who We Are
#BlackLivesMatter757 began as a peaceful protest in the cities of Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, and Portsmouth on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 7:47pm. Concerned citizens gathered at major intersections in each city and mobilized the demand for equal justice and law enforcement accountability for black lives. Spear-headed by Aubrey “Japharii” Jones, on July 10, 2016 successfully put together a peaceful protest as an act of solidarity with the national platform of Black Lives Matter. #BlackLivesMatter757 gives concerned citizens within the Hampton Roads area a voice, a platform, a way to join in the national fight for social justice and accountability for black lives here in Virginia and to ensure social issues are addressed within our state.
